After the series of posts on how to write a decent sales letter, I’ve decided to write about WordPress again. A lot of you know that I have developed a passion for WordPress and that I am planning to change the name of this blog very soon (I hope). I am thinking about something related to WordPress. I haven’t made up my mind yet, but I am just telling you what I think. Maybe you can help and give me some good suggestions. If you have some, you can visit the contact me page… Well, you don’t have to do that now. You can contact me using the feedback button you see on the left. If you click on it, you’ll see this:

You can select Idea and send me your suggestions. Isn’t it a good way to get in touch with your readers? They can talk about their problems, give you some ideas, ask questions or praise your work. This is so much better than the regular contact form.
In today’s post, I am going to show you how to get a similar button on your blog.
To get this feedback button, you need to install a plugin called Usernoise Modal Feedback. The plugin automatically adds a customizable feedback button and form to your WordPress blog.
What makes this plugin better than the regular contact form plugins? Well, many things. These are some of them:
- It works as soon as you install it. You don’t have to mess up with codes or even add a shortcode.
- It matches the style of your blog by default. As soon as you install it, the plugin detects the font size you’re using and uses the same.
- You can change absolutely everything to match the color of your blog.
- You can replace it wherever you want. Left, right, top or even at the bottom.
- You receive notifications on your dashboard and you reply to feedback right from the admin area.
- The plugin supports all major Internet browsers and iPad.
Now I am going to show you how to install and use the plugin.
- Click on Plugins and then Add New
- Write the name of the plugin “Usernoise Modal Feedback” and click Search
- Locate the right plugin and click on Install now
- Activate the plugin

Once you activate the plugin, you’ll find a new section in your admin area called Usernoise. Click on it and then click on Settings.

There you can find many options the plugin offers. Here are some screenshots:

As you can see, you can change almost everything. Font, background color, text, text color, form title, etc. I’ve changed the background color and the position of the feedback button. I’ve also unchecked the ask for a summary box. I find that annoying because people usually don’t know what to write in the summary field.
When you change what you want to change, just click on Save Changes and you’re done.
Now, just visit your blog and check how your feedback button looks like. Click on it to check that everything appear as you want it to be. Here is how mine looks:

This is how it works when someone submits feedback:

That’s all for today. Hope you like the plugin just as I do. I don’t plan to remove the contact form page from my blog even though I have this new plugin installed. I’ll leave it a bit until readers get used to the new feedback button.
Have a great day!

Its a new plug in to opt in users? I’m not very familiar to this so thanks for the step by step guide.
That’s not what this plugin is about. This plugin creates a feedback button on your blog and allows readers to send you feedback and tell you about their problems, ask question, praise your work or even give some suggestions and ideas.
Thanks for stopping by.
So you can use that instead of the contact form. That’s pretty cool Mouh! Something new to add I suppose. But it’s quick, easy and convenient. You won’t be taken to an entirely new page if you have something to share right then and there with the blog owner.
Cool, thanks for sharing that one. Now you’ll have to do a list of favorite WordPress plug-ins for us. I know you’ve got a slew of them now.

Exactly Adrienne. You can use it instead of the contact form. I haven’t removed the contact me page because I am afraid people won’t know how this new feedback button works. But I guess I’ll just change the text from Feedback into Contact me. This would be better. The plugin gives you the ability to change whatever you want. That’s why I really love it.
Thanks Adrienne.
Have a great week!
Mouh
I agree , Adrienne. This is a good replacement for boring contact form that I have on my site.
Mouh, You are back bro and you rock with all the plugin knowledge that you bring to us.

Thank you once again and have a great day

Hi Mouh, This looks fantastic. I definitely will be trying it at The Wonder of Tech. Have you received much Feedback using this plugin?
Carolyn recently posted..Four Hot New Kindles – Which Is Best For You?
I don’t receive a lot of feedback. I receive questions, but not feedback. I like this new plugin because it is quick, easy and convenient as Adrienne said. There is one thing I don’t like about this plugin. You can’t have a long conversation with the person sending the feedback. You can reply right from the admin area, but when the other person hits the reply button, the e-mail will not be send to you. The person has to come again and hit the Feedback button to reply. That’s another reason why I didn’t remove the contact me page. With other contact form, the message is sent to your e-mail and then you can have a long conversation with the person.
Thanks for stopping by Carolyn.
Have a great week my friend.
I completely agree with Carolyn, this plugin looks fantastic! I’m going to install it and start using it.
The thing is that I almost never get any feedback from my contact form. I get a lot of guest post suggestions, and a few things related to ads on my site… but never feedback on topics that my readers want me to write about, or that they just love my blog
Thanks a lot for sharing.

Same here.
I always get feedback in comments. I think people contact you when they have something serious. Most people who contact me do that because of guest posts. People rarely contact you just to say thanks. It is easier to do that in the comment area.
Thanks a lot for stopping by Jens.
See you very soon.
Hey Mouh,
I am so brain dead right now. I missed the part where you said that the feedback icon is on the left.
I would love to get rid of my contact me page anyway. I think that I will add this feedback button to my site. It reminds me of my Twitter icon on my blog.
I really like it when you write about topics that involve WordPress. It helps a lot.

I am glad you like the plugin and my WordPress posts.
I just love WordPress and I enjoy writing about it. Thanks mate!
Mouh
The step by step guide must be helpful. Sharing suggestions to your reader can help you to get the most traffic you want. Thanks Mouh for sharing it.
Don’t mention it, Tracy.
Enjoy using the plugin!
Looks to me like this is a great opportunity to get rid of contact form 7, i don’t know why everyone’s praising that plugin. Maybe because there was nothing better up till now.
Thanks Mouh.
I am still using the contact 7 plugin. I am afraid people won’t see the feedback button. I want to change Feedback into contact me. This way people will know how to get a hold of you when they need to.
Thanks Michael.
From my experience, if people want to get in touch with you, they’ll find a way. In this case they’ll look around for the contact button for two minutes, then go for the Feedback one.
But changing its name to Contact Me is not a bad idea.
That’s true.
Thanks for sharing. I would definitely use this plugin. It would make my contact page more accessible and no more directing to a different page. I bet they use Ajax language when making this plugin. Amazing
Hi Ryan,
The plugin is really great. It makes reaching the blog owner a lot easier and fast.
I am sure you’ll love it mate.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Mouh
What a great plugin mate, definitely going to give this one a try, thanks for sharing
I love it; every time I visit your blog I come away having learnt something new or you give me lots of idea’s that buzz around in my head – thanks mate you’re a star
I really do like the look of this plugin and as you say it’s a great way for your readers to interact immediately without having to leave the page they are on at the time!
Like you I think I will leave the “Contact me” Page on for a while until my readers get use to the new button, but then later I could change it to say “Contact me Here”?
I’ll have a think about a name for your blog Mouh and get back to via the new plugin.
Great write up mate and thanks again for the plugin…
Take care, catch up soon
Ian
PS. Hope things are a little easier my friend.
Thanks a lot Ian. Your comment made me smile.
I am really flattered.
Yeah, I do agree about the name part. It didn’t dawn on me before. I can just change the text and write contact me here. That’s the best solution mate.
I do need help about the name of my blog. I still haven’t made up my mind about it. So I definitely need help here. I plan to get advice from all of my friends before making any progress. You guys know a lot and I am sure you’ll help me make the right decision.
Thank you so much for being here. I am blessed to be your friend.
Mouh
Guys, I am really glad you like my plugin. If so – may be you’ll want to check its extended version Usernoise Pro – http://usernoise.karevn.com
Nikolay Karev (usernoise author) recently posted..Hello world!
I’ll check it for sure.
Thanks for the wonderful plugin.
Hi Mouh!
. Since I only have comments enabled on one of the pages in my site, this would be a very helpful addition to my website. A lot easier than trying to respond to a bunch of e-mails! I especially like that it shows you the feedback right in the dashboard. I’m in Admin a lot more than I’m in my e-mails, so that works out wonderfully!
This looks like a great plug-in! I like that it’s free
Thanks for this great idea!

Dakota
Hi Dakota,
Thanks for stopping by.
I do like receiving feedback right in the admin area. It is a lot easier. It makes the whole progress just like replying to comments. You can approve them and then reply right from the dashboard.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave your wonderful comment.
Have a great weekend, Dakota.
Hey Mouh, I wanted to give you feedback on your Feedback plugin. First, I am on an iPad and the button appears but doesn’t slide with the page. That’s not a problem, I just don’t want anyone to be confused.
Second, I sent you Feedback, Mouh, and you kindly replied right away. The email came from WordPress though, not from your site. A reader could miss your reply.
When someone sends you feedback through this plugin, can you see the person’s email? I would suggest that when you are contacted through this plugin, you copy and paste the email address and send the response from your email account.
I wouldn’t want anyone missing your response.
I’m about to try using the plugin here to see how it works using an iPad. I will post again if I have any difficulties.
Thanks for sharing this, Mouh. I don’t know if you heard the news, but my blog has been picked up by The Philadelphia Inquirer (the largest newspaper in Philadelphia). Yea! My Thursday posts appear in the newspaper and on its website. This started just this past Thursday.
I’m very excited, but now more of the general public is seeing The Wonder of Tech. Based upon 48 hours of experience, I don’t want any more contacts than I’m getting. Let’s just say not everyone is as welcoming as the wonderful blogging community. (Yikes!)
Okay, off to send you feedback!

YES!
Yes, you can see the person’s e-mail… you think it is better to copy the e-mail and send the response directly from your e-mail? I’ll try that and see. Thanks a lot for your help!
I did hear the news but didn’t know it was the largest newspaper in Philadelphia! congratulations on that Carolyn! You’re a passionate blogger and you deserve the best!
Mouh
Hey Mouh,
this is pretty much what i was looking for, a real nice looking modal contact form!
Although is it possible for me to add additional form fields?
I also just want to link to the form from a link using the call as you’ve shown, so dont really need the “feedback” button to appear. I take it the easiest way to hide this would be in CSS?
Thanks for your time in advance, really need to get a form like this but with a few extra fields up and running asap!
Cheers
Steve
Hi Steve,
I don’t think you can add another field. I don’t think that’s possible at least with this version.
If I understand right, you want to link to the feedback button, right. I don’t it is possible. You can just point to it and ask people to contact you. The button slides. So people will be able to see it wherever they’re on the page.
There is a pro version of the plugin. I didn’t know it exist but the author of plugin commented on this post and told us about it. you can check it here:
http://usernoise.karevn.com
Thanks for stopping by Steve. Come back again, OK.
Mouh
Actually you can, but you’ll have to do some custom coding.

BTW you said that ‘you are planning to change the name of this blog very soon’. Have you decided anything yet, I would like to run a contest for suggesting that name on the blog itself and let some contributors suggest few names.
I haven’t decided yet. But that sounds like a great idea, John.
